Our Plea to all those who preach/teach the Bible.

Most of you are admired for your dedication to The Word. You study the Bible, you work in it for hours. Your heart and mind is full of Scriptures. But what about those who place their trust in you to help them? How can they spend hours in the Word or Bible? Many who sit in your churches every Sunday are feeling like they are wasting their time. They hear the same thing year after year. They pay tithes, and receive nothing in return. I do believe that is why many are leaving the churches, they feel useless. You do all the work, get all the blessings and they suffer and feel empty.

They need something to do. They need a new way to stay in The Word, even while they work to feed their family. They are under tremendous pressure these days. We all know we need more faith. So we need to understand what is faith, what is that faith that has carried America this far and made her the greatest nation on earth? The Word of God, our Bible, our faith, our God. If they need more faith, why not give it to them?

We are aware we cannot carry the Bible with us everywhere we go, at least not how it is right now. But what if we simply cut and pasted a few Scriptures in smaller print so they can be folded and bound and then wore, say around the neck. Small enough to wear under their shirt, yeah, an amulet, or something like it.

Ok you are right, there is no law saying we have to do that, but hey, there isn’t any saying we can’t either. In fact I have a few arguments that might prove it can be good for us. In fact it could be a great work and a great benefit to those who decide to give it a go. Israel was commanded to do something like it. So if God told them to do it, He can’t go too hard on us if we copy the idea.

It would give many in the church things to do, to make the amulets. Some to cut and paste, then print Scriptures. Some to bind them etc.

How many times have you been reading the Bible and a Scripture popped out at you, like it belonged to you? I know I have had it happen a lot. It is like God is wanting to give you something to cling to, to carry you through the day. Well what if they could cling to it and carry always, as a gift from God?

Let me give you some examples:

For instance if they need a Doctrine, give them Jesus’ by giving them the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-7:27). What better doctrine could you give them?

They Speak to us, and will lead us as it is written in Proverbs 6:20-23.

Only talk is a vain thing as seen in, surprise, surprise, Proverbs 14:23

The print might be so small as to be unreadable, but they are still effective. After all, germs cannot be seen, yet they can kill. The Word, no matter the size, still offers life.

If some one needed a song in their heart, or some wisdom, better to give it to them from God, than any thing else we could offer.

God said He would write His law upon our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33). Work out your own salvation (Philippians 2:12). We can make us a new heart and put a new spirit in it as written in Ezekiel 18:31. Jesus said His words are spirit and they are life(John 6:63). You can give them the very spirit of Jesus. Or maybe we could use even the Constitution, it too is a new spirit, the very spirit of America, and He does tell us not to forsake the law of our mother (Proverbs 6:20-23). There is so much we could do. We don’t have to be all talk, or sit in pews. We could hold or cling to those things we hold dear. Some things we need to keep close to our skin, so to speak.

If you will notice none of my examples come from the Law. You are right, there is no Law in love. But if you love Him, you would keep His commandments. The two you are always emphasizing, the greatest commandment (Mark 12:29-31), and the new commandment (John 13:34) He gave us.

Spread the Word is a command given to everyone who believes. How else can it be spread if one does not preach or sing? This would allow even the laymen to spread the Word, thereby keeping His charge.

This is only an idea that might help America. If you have a better one, let me know.

COME ON, HELP ME SPREAD THE WORD.

May God go with us all.

Carry the Light

Don’t just carry that Light within, let it shine. Don’t hide it, put it on and shine hope across America.

If one has to search out meaning of hard sayings wouldn’t it be that they search out God’s rather than the churches? The churches speak a language most don’t understand. Christians have a language of their own. They do not seem to speak the language of the people.

What is this “seven deadly sins” thing? Sin is the transgression of the law. There are Ten Commandments, not seven.

I have to tell you that no matter what I say, no matter what I do, nothing can take place of you just trusting The Word of God. The advice He gives you, cannot be replaced. That wearing The Word will be the hardest thing you ever did, or do. You will think of 1000’s of reasons not too. But only one that might convince you to do so, that is that The Word is all God gave us that is eternal, and only the Bible can lead you and yours to all that God has to offer. Listen to those whom you will, follow those you choose, but until you trust only that which God gave us, then you will not ‘hit the mark.’

The Bible is all God gave us to see us through these tough times. We have to trust that God knows what He is doing and that He went through much to see that we are armed and ready for the days ahead. Our children and grandchildren depend on us. We cannot do it without God and what He provided for us to carry them through.

His counsel, His ways are our only hope. Listen not to vain sayings, leave the preachers to prove themselves, and let’s prove God true.

Choose the Bible of your choice, but remember God has only “ONE” Son, ‘one Word,’ that which He spoke, wrote, and made flesh, find Him and wear Him, for He come in the volume that is written of Him. He is that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life. (Your Bible) He is in your Bible, which Bible?, which Word? That is your quest. May you find Him and be found in Him.

Read John 1:1-3 very carefully.

May He go with us all.

The Armour of God? Again?

If there is one topic I have got to where I hate to discuss it with anyone, it is the topic of the Armour of God. Everyone believes the lie that all they have to do is pray it on and they will be protected from the wicked one the rest of the day. The next morning, pray it again for the rest of your life. That’s a lie.

People will never learn what the Armour is until they learn who Jesus is or until they are ready to show Jesus they love Him. Either way will lead them into the Armour. The Armour of God is something we “put on.” Get that, action words that involves work on your part. Not prayer, we pray always and “put on” the Armour.

Love isn’t always easy. It takes work to show someone you love them. All Jesus asks us to do is to keep His words even as He kept His Father’s. Not hard is it? Can be, cause one would have to go see how Jesus kept His Father’s in order to understand how we are to “keep” His. That would be found in Deut. 6:8 and 11:18. He would have to bind them and wear them, so in turn, we would bind Jesus’ words and wear them in like manner. To “put on” His words. They go in a hat, or headband and a wristband, just like Jesus did with His Father’s words.

Then we dwell in His love as He dwelt in His Father’s. Don’t sound tough does it? Try it, it really isn’t as easy as you think. Because then you are letting His Spirit lead you instead of your flesh. Yes The Word in our heart guides us, but Jesus wants to lead. He said His words are Spirit and they are life. He goes before us in all we do.

And that is the beginning of the Armour. For you will begin to grow in The Word as you let Him lead and guide you.

Think of it like this. You’re in a car, you ask Jesus in, so He comes and takes the steering wheel. (your heart) But times begins to get tough, so Jesus tells you He need to guide you as well. Ok, so now He has both the steering wheel and He goes out front to clear the path for you. Or as He puts it: let Him fight this fight for you.

So now you have The Word in both your heart and upon your body. Letting The Spirit lead isn’t easy because your flesh simply doesn’t always want to do what the Spirit leads you into. So as I said, show Jesus you love Him and wear His words. Dwell in Spirit and in life. Like anything else He tells us to do, it is for you own sake as well as those you love.

Whether you choose to or not matters not to anyone other than yourself, and maybe those who you love. No one would even know except you and maybe those you live with. So your choice is between you and your Master? God? Father? Messiah? Friend? Whoever He is to you.

We really don’t need the churches as they are now, we need Jesus. So unless the churches want to print and bind The Word for those who can’t, they might find that their pews will continue to become vacant. People are leaving because they need more. The churches could help, but they already know everything and don’t want a lesson from laymen, beggars, lepers etc..

What better way to “spread” the Gospel?

May we all be found in His love, spirit and life. And if He tarries, may we be found in the whole armor of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible – A Love Letter

The Bible – A Love Letter
http://coldnosesbook.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/The-Bible-a-Love-Letter.pdf

I liked this article and it is how I see the Bible.
But again I need to express the fact that not everyone has the time to spend reading the Bible daily. Times are hard and most of us have a full day’s work ahead of us.

I always thought that is why we paid the preachers. So that we can take care of the work, and they can tell us what God wants us to do. Nowhere in the Bible is it written ‘thou shall read this book daily.’ God knows we are in a mess. Doing double time so to speak. What is His solution? Simply take His Word with you wherever you go, do all you do in The Word.

And no, you don’t have to take the whole Bible, just The Word of God. You know those He spoke, those He wrote, the Ten Commandments. And God can speak to you because He tells us in Proverbs 6:20-23 that His Word speaks to us.

I think the churches have failed us here. We were never told how to hear from God for ourselves. That we can spend hours in His presence and not have to sit over a Bible. But to go about our day doing what we do, doing all we do in The Word.

Oh, and if you want eyes to see, take along with you Jesus’ commandments as well.

May God go with us all.

Showing Our Love?

I think in order to understand what the Bible is conveying to us we need to find, if possible, the meaning of words or phrases in question, from the Bible itself.

Most of us when we questioned the keeping of Commandments we were told to memorize them. To “keep” them committed to memory with as many other Scriptures as we can. And to read the Scriptures daily.

My problem is: one, time. Two, I can’t memorize anything for any length of time. I seem to have C.R.S. syndrome. Not that I didn’t give it a gallant attempt. I would memorize them, forget them, again and again. My daily schedule was already maxed out. I did good to pray before I fell to sleep. And come to think about it, a bump on the head or just age itself will erase them from memory.

With these problems haunting me, and no one I asked could give me any satisfactory answer to the problem, I consulted The Bible itself, along with a good dictionary.

The word I seem to have trouble with is the word ‘keep.’ How do ya ‘keep’ commandments? That was the question I set out to find the answer to.

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments

John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

(Ok, is this a hint, it can’t be just memorizing them because of the words ‘hath’ and keep. Isn’t ‘hath’ a possessive word?)

John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

(We know Jesus kept His Father’s commandments, because He was instructed to do so in: Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

And this is how Jesus did it.

Deuteronomy 11:18
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.)

Like always, the answer to one question leads to many more questions. But let’s stay focused on the word ‘keep’ and maybe even ‘hath.’ So we don’t know yet what He means by “in your heart and in your soul,” but the rest is easy enough to do.

The dictionary: Keep–possess something: to hold or maintain something in your possession.

My conclusion is that if we love Jesus we need to “keep” His Commandments, just like He kept His Father’s. That would mean we would bind them. So the first thing that comes to my mind is what are Jesus’ commandments?

I have heard some say it is the Sermon on the Mount because Jesus, like God, was on the mount when speaking. That is also true of the red words of Rev. Or even the New Commandment. Still others say that it is the Greatest Commandments. All I can really say is: choose the one that works for you. Pick one of your choice, your best guess, and bind it then put it in a headband and wristband. He will add what He sees fit. Just try, and He will help us work out the salvation of our souls.

May God go with us all.
