Our Bible, a History Book?

It has been said that the Bible is just a history book. That might be correct. But by receiving the Bible we can see why, what, when, and where things went wrong, as well as who was to blame. We can look upon that Book and see things that we can change. Like they say, hindsight is 20/20.

So, do we just believe it is all over, done away with, absolutely out of our hands? Or do we realize history repeats itself? By reading and learning the Bible, we can infer the ending, whether it’s of allowing our humanity to overcome us, or by accepting God’s wisdom and help.

Revelations shows us no real ending. That’s because, like many things, that ending is a reflection of our beliefs. The end is up to our actions, beliefs, and the very talent given us to change human nature.

Do we interpret the Bible literally or spiritually? How about we take it according to our understanding? Would that be such a bad idea? Every word normally has more than one definition. So, if we just understand it according to our own personal levels, we all would probably have answers that we can all discuss. It is called a debate, where you state where you are, another brings up what they know and understand, then we get to compare what we know to what went wrong, by whom, where, why etc..

Church shouldn’t be lectures without a following debate or discussion. We aren’t in a hierarchy in the Body of Christ. There isn’t a head honcho to listen to other than God Almighty. Picture a family reading the Bible. There are several points found: a dad’s view, mom’s, children, and when they are finished, they discuss what they got from those Scriptures. At least that’s what would happen in an ideal setting. That is, however, what a good church should be. Family discovering the views of each member in order to discover the truth of the Scriptures. Men’s, women’s and children’s point of view. All should be heard because any one of them can shed more light on what you think you know. As the Apostles wrote, ‘iron sharpens iron’.

How and why did Israel fall, or how, why, when did the Christians’ fail? We can ask God and search the Scriptures for our answers. Most of all, what did God do when His people failed Him? And what can we expect if we continue on the path this world is going?

We don’t have to go through the Tribulation. We don’t have to let evil overtake us. We just have to learn and look upon the Scriptures with a 20/20 vision. Life can and will be great when we begin to seek one another’s view. There appears to be too many teachers and never enough students.

People seem to live on fear. Somehow they want tribulation, drama, etc. around. They want blood, they want anyone who isn’t like them to just go away, hoping someone else will do away with them. The hate of people, speech, ethnicities, everything seems to have something that will ‘trigger’ someone else. They don’t realize that there are different parts of the body and not all parts function in the same manner.

Think about it, we could end up in Paradise, or hell. It’s all our choice. If it is paradise that we wish to see, then dwell in the love of The Father and The Son by “keeping” the law (Ten Commandments) and testimony (Sermon on the Mount), as directed by God in Deut.6:8-9. May we all one day find Paradise.

Avoiding the Old?

It seems most people will do anything they find Jesus of the N.T. asking or showing them what to do. Yet they avoid the O.T. like the plague where the wisdom of The Father rests.

So what does Paul mean when He tells us ‘to put on Jesus’? He doesn’t tell us to pray Him on, but to PUT Him on and pray always.

In John we are told Jesus is The Word. If Jesus is a Word then we can surely do as we are told and ‘put’ Him on, if we only knew what Word Jesus is. Some declare He is the Bible. The Bible is a book that speaks of Him, but The Word we are told to put on is The Word of God.

The very Word God Himself spoke with His own breath (our Lord)). That Word God wrote with His own finger (Jesus) and The Word God made flesh (The Christ). Our Trinity.

When Paul tells us to put on the full armour of God, or to put on Jesus, it is the same thing the wisdom of God tells us in Deut.6:8-9. To preserve life, to protect our family and everything we have worked for. Remember we are told they will come to steal, kill, destroy. Our Lord Jesus Christ can and will protect all we give Him to protect.

We again were told that we are not to let the world overtake us. We are not to become like them. We are to love and wait on our Lord. We can only do that if we allow Him to protect us as we spread The Word and show others how to protect what they love and worked for.

Christians are being eliminated from all over. We must learn to make a stand and show others to do the same by trusting and obeying our God.

The armour of God is found throughout the Scriptures. The Father started by giving instructions to the children. We aren’t kings nor priests, but we are His children and our Father instructs His own children. The armour is found in the law, prophets, and N.T..

Times are getting tough and time is short. The invasion of America must be stopped and God is our only hope. Let Him fight our battles, keep evil from us and protect us from our enemies. And may we all come to trust Him and help others make their stand.

Life and death is in the tongue. Those words from the mouth of The Father (Ten Commandments) and those from The Son (Sermon on the Mount) gives us the law and testimony we are going to need to overcome the world. We know the voice of our God for they are spirit and they are life.

Go and get busy, search the Scriptures for things He wants us to wear or to do. Learn to “keep” those things you find good. Love Him by seeking His truth, love your neighbour by showing them what you have found. May His presence go with us all and all be found in His will, for the whole duty of men is to “KEEP” the Commandments.

Our Plea to all those who preach/teach the Bible.

Most of you are admired for your dedication to The Word. You study the Bible, you work in it for hours. Your heart and mind is full of Scriptures. But what about those who place their trust in you to help them? How can they spend hours in the Word or Bible? Many who sit in your churches every Sunday are feeling like they are wasting their time. They hear the same thing year after year. They pay tithes, and receive nothing in return. I do believe that is why many are leaving the churches, they feel useless. You do all the work, get all the blessings and they suffer and feel empty.

They need something to do. They need a new way to stay in The Word, even while they work to feed their family. They are under tremendous pressure these days. We all know we need more faith. So we need to understand what is faith, what is that faith that has carried America this far and made her the greatest nation on earth? The Word of God, our Bible, our faith, our God. If they need more faith, why not give it to them?

We are aware we cannot carry the Bible with us everywhere we go, at least not how it is right now. But what if we simply cut and pasted a few Scriptures in smaller print so they can be folded and bound and then wore, say around the neck. Small enough to wear under their shirt, yeah, an amulet, or something like it.

Ok you are right, there is no law saying we have to do that, but hey, there isn’t any saying we can’t either. In fact I have a few arguments that might prove it can be good for us. In fact it could be a great work and a great benefit to those who decide to give it a go. Israel was commanded to do something like it. So if God told them to do it, He can’t go too hard on us if we copy the idea.

It would give many in the church things to do, to make the amulets. Some to cut and paste, then print Scriptures. Some to bind them etc.

How many times have you been reading the Bible and a Scripture popped out at you, like it belonged to you? I know I have had it happen a lot. It is like God is wanting to give you something to cling to, to carry you through the day. Well what if they could cling to it and carry always, as a gift from God?

Let me give you some examples:

For instance if they need a Doctrine, give them Jesus’ by giving them the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-7:27). What better doctrine could you give them?

They Speak to us, and will lead us as it is written in Proverbs 6:20-23.

Only talk is a vain thing as seen in, surprise, surprise, Proverbs 14:23

The print might be so small as to be unreadable, but they are still effective. After all, germs cannot be seen, yet they can kill. The Word, no matter the size, still offers life.

If some one needed a song in their heart, or some wisdom, better to give it to them from God, than any thing else we could offer.

God said He would write His law upon our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33). Work out your own salvation (Philippians 2:12). We can make us a new heart and put a new spirit in it as written in Ezekiel 18:31. Jesus said His words are spirit and they are life(John 6:63). You can give them the very spirit of Jesus. Or maybe we could use even the Constitution, it too is a new spirit, the very spirit of America, and He does tell us not to forsake the law of our mother (Proverbs 6:20-23). There is so much we could do. We don’t have to be all talk, or sit in pews. We could hold or cling to those things we hold dear. Some things we need to keep close to our skin, so to speak.

If you will notice none of my examples come from the Law. You are right, there is no Law in love. But if you love Him, you would keep His commandments. The two you are always emphasizing, the greatest commandment (Mark 12:29-31), and the new commandment (John 13:34) He gave us.

Spread the Word is a command given to everyone who believes. How else can it be spread if one does not preach or sing? This would allow even the laymen to spread the Word, thereby keeping His charge.

This is only an idea that might help America. If you have a better one, let me know.

COME ON, HELP ME SPREAD THE WORD.

May God go with us all.
